THE PERFORMANCE OF ORLANDO
Theater Projection Design
April - July 2020
The creative team took Virginia Woolf's novel "Orlando: A Biography" and transformed it into a 70-minute performance, incorporating projections that featured both pre-recorded video footage and real-time visuals. These projections served to provide an additional perspective beyond the audience's viewpoint, enhancing the overall storytelling experience.
"The Performance of Orlando" is a metadrama that weaves together multiple narratives. The story delves into the transgender journey of Orlando's life, which also serves as a semi-autobiography of Virginia Woolf. The performance explores thought-provoking topics such as feminism, transgender identity, and English literary history.
